Section 1: An Example of Best Practice – A Competency Based Interview Format

To gain the full benefit of this style of interview and to ensure consistency and equality to all Candidates throughout the selection process, it is essential that Competency Based Interviews are ideally undertaken in the company of a trained Competency Based Interviewer.  If you would like to find out more about training, please contact HR Manager.

As best practice, all interviews should be undertaken with at least one interviewer being fully conversant within the Epsidon Technology Group eg:  Executive and HR Manager/Administrator

 

The Competency Based Interview process involves four key stages:

Stage 1            Welcoming the Candidate

Stage 2            Gathering evidence under each Competency

Stage 3            Closing the interview

Stage 4            Assessing and evaluating the Candidates responses

The following table outlines the key elements that should be addressed at each stage.
