- Period of probation is determined as per contract (3 months)
- The purpose of probation is to give the employer an opportunity to evaluate the employee’s performance
- During probation the employee’s performance should be assessed and monitored using the FD Employee Probation Review Form
- If the employee’s performance is not satisfactory, the probation period may be extended or the employee may be terminated
- Before manager can decide to terminate or extend the probation period, the employee must be given an opportunity to make representation.
